Have been searching the net for a while but am still to find a site that offers air freight rates online. It is really surprising that while there is no end to the no. of sites showing the passenger rates for any destination world wide but the best that you have for cargo is send a request and the rate will be quoted by return mail.
This has prompted me to lend my support in the designing of a site http://www.airservices.in/ dedicated to displaying the published tariffs for the air freight between any 2 destinations. Initially the site will start with the freight rates within and from India and ultimately the intentions are of being a service spanning the globe. Such a service can provide valuable support to all the cargo agents and exporters alike in planning the costings for any movement. The site will also be a platform for the airlines to publish their latest rate updates, fuel surcharge revisions and any other information relating to teh costings. The agents / exporters on the other hand get the benefit of knowing all the airlines that operate on a particular sector along with their rates as well as rate conditions.

- Any new circular is issued by a airline, customs, airport operator, etc.
The site also provides the functionality of letting the users code or decode Airlines, Cities, calculate volume weights, etc. Other areas of the site will let users book air travel, hotels, charters, etc. It is also planned to have a page dedicated to cargo news & views from leading publications.
